A massive thank you to David Smith 💙

Over the past few months, David has put a power of work into supporting Mentor Scotland.

From walking the West Highland Way, to helping organise a sports memorabilia raffle, David has helped raise an incredible £3,100 for the group.

That is a phenomenal amount of money and something we are extremely grateful for.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Arthur Numan through the raffle, which was a brilliant experience and another reminder of the good people who continue to get behind Mentor Scotland.

What means the most is that David chose to support us because he believes in the work being done here in West Dunbartonshire.

A special thank you to Phil and Paul for hosting us, and to our volunteers who came along and shared part of their own journeys.

Morning everyone, our peer support group is on tonight from 5.30pm with the option to join our talking groups at 7pm.

We’re also only 2 days away from the Kiltwalk and we have a good group of people doing it on behalf of Mentor Scotland which we’re really grateful for.

We would like to thank everyone for their generosity in donating to the cause so far.

Today’s Monday message is a simple one. By helping others we are also helping ourselves.

Studies have shown that when someone carries out an act of kindness, the person receiving it gets a flood of feel good chemicals in their body.

But so too does the person giving it. And even if you witness it without being directly involved, you’ll also feel those same things.

It’s a cheat code to help yourself feel better if you’re struggling. Reaching out to someone else, helping someone in need, praising another’s progress, donating to a food bank or charity shop.

It’s a win-win that helps you, helps the other person or people, and also gives anyone witnessing it that feeling of knowing that there are good people in the world.
